VA Services
MediLodge accepts veterans for skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, and long-term care. If you or a loved one served in the military and needs post-acute or ongoing care, several VA programs can help cover the cost, and MediLodge can help you figure out which ones apply.
VA programs that may cover care
The VA’s Community Nursing Home program allows eligible veterans to receive skilled nursing care in community (non-VA) facilities like MediLodge. Eligibility is determined by the local VA medical center.
The Aid and Attendance benefit provides additional monthly payments to veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily activities or are housebound. It can be used to help offset the cost of nursing facility care.
VA contract nursing home care may be available for veterans with service-connected disabilities rated at 70% or higher, or for veterans who need care for a service-connected condition.
How to get started
The process usually begins at your local VA medical center. A VA social worker can evaluate eligibility, authorize placement in a community nursing home, and coordinate the referral. MediLodge’s admissions team has experience working with VA referrals and can help facilitate the process from our end.
If you’re not sure whether you qualify, start by contacting the VA’s Caregiver Support Line at 1-855-260-3274 or reaching out to your local VA medical center’s social work department.
At MediLodge
Not every VA program is available at every location, and eligibility requirements vary. Find a MediLodge location near you and talk with the admissions team about VA services and benefits.
